Beginning with the April 1 – June 30 2009 time frame, the KCMP Self-Assessment will be submitted by districts to their respective special education cooperative on a quarterly basis. This change will impact special education data beginning with the 2008-09 school year.
The new quarterly schedule is as follows.

During the first month of the cycle, districts and coops will review and validate data for accuracy. During the second month of the cycle, the district will assemble its District Review Team, complete the self-assessment, and submit to their special education cooperative. During the third month of the cycle, each cooperative will focus on the indicators during that reporting period for further analysis and how the cooperative can best support districts with these indicators. The cooperative will submit a regional data report to KDE at the end of the third month.
Please note that even though KCMP Indicators 11 and 13 are not reported until the August 1 – October 30 KCMP cycle, record reviews should be conducted by the district prior to the end of the 2008-09 school year. This will give the district an opportunity to correct any found noncompliance with Indicator 13 requirements prior to submitting those data to the special education coop this fall.
